Director of College and Academic Advising

Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders.

Position Summary:

The Director of College and Academic Advising supports the mission of our school by providing support services that will contribute to the students’ development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God. The Director plays a crucial role by accepting the responsibility for the development and implementation of college and academic guidance services at Grapevine Faith Christian School. The Director will report to the High School Principal.  

Status:  Full-Time / Exempt / 12-month

Responsibilities:

1. Seeks to model in speech, actions, and attitude, a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
2. Maintain absolute confidence of all privileged or sensitive information.
3. Responsible for the development of college and academic guidance services at Faith.
4. Responsible for the implementation of academic guidance services at Faith.
5. Assist the Admission Committee in evaluating a student's enrollment status.
6. Responsible for all high school testing: PSAT 9, PSAT, Pre-ACT, ACT and AP Exams. 
7. Responsible for planning of HS Awards Ceremony and Graduation.
8. Responsible for high school master schedule and student scheduling.
9. Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with colleges.
10. Coordinate with the Office of Admissions for marketing purposes, proctoring and Open Houses.
11. Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School including the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
12. Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
13. Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
14. Other duties as assigned that are closely related to this position. 

Qualifications:

• Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and be a member of a Bible believing church.
• Must have a high level of discernment and wisdom, and the ability to manage confidential   information. 
• Knowledgeable about class offerings, graduation requirements and information about college, admissions, financial aid, and scholarship application process. 
• Proven leadership skills with an ongoing commitment to grow as a servant-leader.

• Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with the President and Board’s expectations, established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and relational skills and the ability to adapt to new technology.
• Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication.  Speaks with clear articulation.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required. At least 4-6 years of experience is required.
