Position Overview

Village Christian School is seeking a qualified High School Bible 12 Teacher to provide engaging, Christ-centered instruction to senior-level students. This position integrates a distinctly biblical worldview into daily instruction while fostering spiritual growth, critical thinking, and academic excellence. The teacher cultivates a CAREing classroom environment grounded in respect, grace, and a passion for Scripture, preparing students to thrive spiritually and intellectually.

Faculty members are expected to demonstrate scholarly depth in biblical studies, strong instructional practices, and active participation in the life of the VCS community.


Primary Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Provide high-quality Bible instruction aligned with school curriculum
  • Integrate a biblical worldview into all instruction and classroom discussions
  • Develop and maintain organized course plans and daily lesson plans
  • Establish and communicate clear learning objectives
  • Utilize engaging instructional strategies for in-person and online learning
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
  • Incorporate relevant technology to enhance learning
  • Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Maintain accurate gradebooks, attendance records, and progress reports

Classroom Leadership

  • Maintain a disciplined, respectful, and grace-filled learning environment
  • Enforce school policies and procedures consistently
  • Be available to students and parents before and after school
  • Communicate regularly with parents and administration regarding student progress

Professional & Community Engagement

  • Serve as a “1:5 adult,” providing mentorship, academic support, and advocacy
  • Participate in faculty meetings, department meetings, and assigned evening events
  • Attend overnight trips as assigned
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
  • Complete supervisory and extra-duty assignments as required
  • Maintain professionalism and collaboration within the VCS community
  • Abide by the policies outlined in the VCS Employee Handbook

Spiritual Commitment

  • Demonstrate a dynamic, growing Christian faith
  • Serve as a spiritual role model for students
  • Maintain commitment to the Village Christian School Statement of Faith
  • Actively support the mission and ministry of Christian education

Qualifications

Village Christian School seeks employees with a vibrant Christian faith. Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in Biblical Studies or education field preferred
  • Teaching credential preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Scripture and theological foundations
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • Experience integrating technology into instruction
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Teachers with four (4) or more assigned periods are eligible for benefits.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to traverse campus and lead students to safety in an emergency
