High School Computer Science / Engineering Teacher

Job Description:
Little Rock Christian Academy seeks a full-time high school Computer Science/Engineering teacher committed to academic excellence through a Biblical worldview and to building a strong community within the high school. This teacher will guide students in developing logical thinking and practical problem-solving skills while exploring how technology and design can be used wisely to serve others and for God’s glory. The role includes teaching courses such as Programming, Professional Engineering, and AP Computer Science, designing engaging learning experiences that promote deeper understanding and real-world application, collaborating with department and high school faculty, pursuing ongoing professional growth, and building strong partnerships with families.

Responsibilities & Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to teach a range of courses as needed, including programming classes, Professional Engineering, Robotics, and AP Computer Science (or comparable advanced coursework).
  • Plan and deliver purposeful instruction that builds strong foundations in computational thinking, programming, and engineering design.
  • Prepare students for the advanced expectations in AP Computer Science, including problem-solving, code quality, and AP-style assessments (as applicable).
  • Maintain a classroom culture of respect, clarity, and consistent expectations.
  • Communicate clearly with families and collaborate with colleagues to support student success.
  • Actively pursue growth as a professional educator and support the mission and culture of LRCA through faculty collaboration and school life.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Arkansas teaching license (or ability/willingness to obtain).
  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field (advanced degree welcomed).
  • Preferred teaching experience in computer science and/or engineering coursework.
