High School Science Teacher

Chicago Christian High School seeks a full-time high school Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.  Chicago Christian High School is located in Palos Heights, IL, in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.  We seek individuals who are driven by excellence and care deeply about their students.  Being part of the CCHS faculty means striving to reach all students and recognizing the importance of building strong, authentic relationships with them. At CCHS, we understand that students come to school with a wide variety of backgrounds, abilities, and interests. The CCHS faculty is responsible for working with each student and getting to know him or her in a way that will not only best support their learning but also provide guidance and spiritual direction.

In our classrooms, we strive to push our students to be followers of Christ, think critically, ask deeper questions, and to have ownership of their own learning. We are not afraid to abandon the lesson plan to dive into an idea or expand on a question or revelation. 

Science Position Profile: 

 The preferred candidate will be able to:

• Share and articulate their faith in a way that helps promote the spiritual development of students. 
• Use strong pedagogical methods to help expand our students’ knowledge in science standards rooted in the NGSS framework. 
• Balance the need for discipleship and academic excellence within each Science course. 
• Use technology effectively and meaningfully in the classroom. 
• Understand how to teach purposefully in an extended class period. 
• Provide an appropriate academic challenge and demonstrate an ability to differentiate in the classroom to reach all students. 
• Be able to incorporate a Standards Based Learning approach to grading. 
• Have the desire to collaborate in a professional learning community.

Courses to Teach: 

• Biology 
• Conceptual Physics 
• Health & Fitness (one semester only) 

Applicants must profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and meet all criteria for employment as required by the Chicago Christian Schools Association. Experience in an educational setting and a related college degree are required.
