Holland Christian Schools in Holland, MI has a wonderful program—Forest School. Based on the notion that nature serves as an incredible stimulus for student curiosity, learning, creativity, collaboration, problem solving, and even faith formation, Forest School students spend the bulk of each day outdoors—whether that be in the wooded acreage within Holland Christian’s boundaries or at any number of local natural areas—rain, snow, or shine. The program is already serving as an inspiration for other schools and attracting visitors from around the nation, documentary filmmakers, and educational researchers.

Holland Christian Schools is looking for a teacher to guide these young people, building on their foundational success and taking the next step to unlock even more learning adventures for the 2026-2027 school year. This teaching role is for our Young-Five learners.  

The ideal teacher for Forest School Y-5’s will have an excellent command of learning standards, a creative drive to reshape student-centered learning environments and experiences, and a genuine love for the outdoors in all their varied seasons. Support and training comes from the staff at Holland Christian Schools, along with the Outdoor Discovery Center, our partner in Forest School education. The teacher will possess a grade-appropriate state credential.
