Position Description: IT / Network Support
Position Reports to: IT Administrator
Position Classification: Full-time or part time, at-will, 12-month, hourly
Position Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- BS in Computer Science preferred but will entertain those with Network+, CCNA or CCNP certificates or similar. Verifiable, positive job experience (4 years plus) in lieu of those certifications may be acceptable.
- Experience supporting the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management WAN networks to enhance network efficiency and scalability preferred
- Willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to contribute knowledge and skills to the team

Position Overview:
Be part of a team that works together to keep administrators’, educators’ and students’ devices working through proper maintenance, planning and real time support requests. Position is to be focusing on networking design and improvements (Firewalls, APs, VLANs, VOIP, etc) but will also include working with content filtering, MDM device management, device troubleshooting, user creation, configuration and support in Microsoft AD, Google admin and Quickbooks environments among others. You will field help-desk and other support requests, in a timely and courteous manner. This position has upward potential for the right candidate. Valley Christian is a Google Workspace - Chromebook, MS AD - Windows, iPad, and increasingly Ubiquity environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Cross train on our various systems at least to a middle level of expertise, but with the goal of being high, system administrative level on all of our networking systems
- Execute tasks from help desk, support requests and assignments from the IT administrator
- Will have areas of responsibility assigned, usually in your area of expertise or interest, but sometimes will fall outside of those parameters
- Interact with administration, students and teachers on a regular basis
- Document well, fixes and solutions to problems
- Initial and advanced troubleshooting and fixes of student, teacher and administration devices
- Understand and be able to use and help others use the various systems we employ at the school.
- Be conversant with a wide range of systems that we use to run the school, but particularly networking components, including the ability to cross train and be cross trained within the IT team.
- Position may require reimbursable travel to other campuses to address issues that cannot be resolved remotely
