Position Overview

Grace Community School is seeking an outstanding, experienced High School English Teacher who is eager to integrate biblical truth into the study of literature, writing, language, and rhetoric. Key Responsibilities

1. Biblical Integration and Classroom Culture

  • Demonstrate a biblical philosophy of education by thoughtfully integrating faith, truth, and virtue into the study of literature and writing.

  • Model Christlike character, intellectual humility, and respect for others while encouraging civil discourse and thoughtful discussion.

  • Establish and maintain a classroom culture that values curiosity, discipline, and academic excellence.

2. Instruction and Curriculum

  • Demonstrate mastery of English content, including literature, composition, grammar, and research.

  • Design and implement long-range and daily lesson plans aligned with Grace Community School’s curriculum and instructional priorities.

  • Engage students with a variety of texts, genres, and instructional strategies that encourage critical thinking and close reading.

  • Utilize varied assessments to evaluate student learning and inform instructional strategies.

3. Collaboration and Professional Practice

  • Collaborate effectively with department colleagues, instructional leaders, and administration.

  • Participate in professional development with a commitment to lifelong learning.

  • Contribute positively to the academic and spiritual life of the school community.
