Grace Community School seeks a mature, energetic, and ministry-minded College & Career Counselor to lead and implement a comprehensive guidance program for high school students. Along with the Director of Counseling, the College & Career Counselor is responsible for planning and executing college planning events, coordinating standardized testing, overseeing the academic advising process, and managing transcripts and college applications. The Counselor serves as the primary resource for students and families exploring their options for careers and education beyond high school.
Manage the primary college guidance program for high school students.
Plan and provide events or informational workshops to educate families on the college search and application process.
Host guidance breakout sessions throughout the year.
Train students on relevant tools and college search systems.
Meet individually with students or parents as needed.
Coordinate with college representatives to arrange individual college visits on the Grace campus.
Coordinate annual PSAT testing for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.
Coordinate annual AP testing.
Advise students on appropriate courses for their needs, abilities, and goals, adjusting their 4-year plan as needed.
Manage student schedules and process schedule changes.
Coordinate dual credit programs with partner colleges.
Maintain student academic files.
Provide transcripts for dual credit registration.
Assist with coordinating graduation.
