Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Education, or related field
Valid Teaching Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of successful teaching experience as an Art Teacher
Prior experience in an international school
Master’s Degree in Art, Education or related field
Understanding of Common Core Standards
Role Specific Responsibilities:
Teach 5 Middle School and High School Art Elective Courses
Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
Demonstrates a strong grasp of key concepts, artistic methods, and the structure of visual arts, effectively teaching this knowledge and helping students find meaning in the subject.
Shows commitment to christian education and upholds the school’s mission, vision, and philosophy while actively promoting the school’s core virtues in students.
Engages every student in age-appropriate learning experiences that support artistic, intellectual, and character growth.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with students, parents, staff, leadership, and the wider community to support student learning and well-being.
Uses effective instructional practices that encourage high student achievement, incorporating strategies such as active learning, hands-on tasks, and meaningful teacher-student interaction.
Integrates appropriate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
