Learning Support Coordinator

Required Qualifications

  • Passion for serving God in the context of education 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education 
  • At least 2 years of Learning Support Coordinator experience 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education or Education
  • Three or more years of successful teaching experience 
  • Prior leadership experience 
  • Prior experience developing and implementing IEPs 
  • Prior experience in an international school 
  • Understanding of Common Core Standards 
  • Experience with English Language Learners 
  • Experience working with students with special needs 
  • Diagnostician credentials or other testing credentials

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee the learning support department and staff 
  • Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop intervention plans or IEP 
  • Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s ability Teach and mentor students in small groups and one-on-one 
  • Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress 
  • Update IEPs on an annual basis to reflect students’ progress and goals 
  • Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, and administrators 
  • Lead, supervise, evaluate and mentor the learning support team in their given roles (para- professionals, LS teachers, ELL teachers) 
  • Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and after graduation
  •  Lead the Students With Intervention Team (RTI) and process 
  • Collaborate on training for teachers in professional development settings
  •  Coordinate with subcontractors for outside testing purposes
  •  Assess students with special needs during the admission process and provide

    feedback to the admission committee. 

  • Conduct teacher observations and evaluations annually for direct reports

  • Update and support Learning Support Policy 
  • Other duties as assigned
