Chief Financial Officer

Primary Function: The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for implementing the vision and providing the leadership to effectively manage the business office employees.  The position reports to the Head of School and is an active member of the school’s senior staff.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for working with the Head of School to develop school's strategy for growth.  Specifically responsible for building financial models (forecasting) tied to the development of strategy.
  2. Serve as a member of the senior staff and work closely with the Head of School.
  3. Plan and facilitate regular meetings of the Board of Trustees’ Finance Committee.
  4. Lead, manage, guide, and evaluate all those who report directly to the CFO.
  5. Establish and maintain proper accounting policies and procedures.
  6. Build and maintain financial controls and systems.
  7. Maintain proper banking relationships.
  8. Monitor all sub-contractor, vendor, and contractual relationships.
  9. Safeguard all unused checks and credit cards.
  10. Create monthly financial statements.
  11. In conjunction with members of the senior staff, prepare annual budgets for submission to the Board of Trustees.
  12. Maintain and monitor all cash account activity.
  13. Responsible for billing and collection of tuition and pledges.
  14. Serve as an active member of the Tuition Assistance Committee.
