Description

The Director of Information Technology will oversee a department that includes four other full-time, dedicated professionals. The Technology Department plays an essential role in all aspects of school operations: supporting technology integration into classes and other co-curricular programs; managing the 1:1 student device program; deploying and maintaining a suite of enterprise database systems, and managing the critical IT infrastructure. The Director of InformationTechnology will be responsible for all aspects of technology at Trinity, from the day-to-today work of keeping the network and platforms functioning to the strategic work of preparing the school for the next wave of technological innovation.


Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement a strategic technology plan for the school.
  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to
    established goals
  • Administration of Google Workspace, Blackbaud Suite, Raptor Emergency Management,
    Verkada and other educational software products
  • Provide leadership and oversee the day-to-day management of the school’s core
    technology infrastructure, including data network and backup systems, firewall and
    security issues, databases, servers, equipment, and telephone systems.
  • Ensure that the network is secure, reliable, and scalable to support the needs of
    students, faculty, and staff.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies for classroom and
    administrative uses or to improve the current infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with division heads and other administrators to deploy and integrate
    age- and grade-appropriate technology applications across the school.
  • Partner with senior leaders in areas such as Business, Communications, Safety and
    Security and Advancement to support their work.
  • Manage vendor relations, procurement, installation, and implementation of information systems.
  • Ensure the coordination, security, and efficiency of network infrastructure.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the school’s databases and internal and external networks. Oversee the management of all IT inventory.
  • Provide maintenance and support for all IT resources.
  • Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and provide strategic direction for the IT staff.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget.
  • Stay current on trends and new developments in the areas of educational technologies, software, hardware, networks, telecommunications, training, and maintenance.
  • Take an active role in the life of the school.

Requirements and skills

  • Is a committed follower of Christ who resonates deeply with the mission of Trinity and is
    able to further that mission.
  • At least 7 years proven experience as IT Director or similar role.
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their
    specifications.
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
  • Fluency and proficiency working with Apple operating systems and Google Workspace for
    Education.
  • Professional technical certifications from Apple, Google, and other organizations
    preferred. Experience with administrative and academic database systems. Experience
    with Veracross (SIS) and JAMF (MDM) preferred.
  • Current and in-depth knowledge of network architecture, telecommunication, wireless,
    mobile, cloud technologies, and artificial intelligence.
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget and long-term forecasting.
  • Ability to handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects efficiently and
    effectively.
  • A desire to lead a dedicated technology team and to develop and empower its members
    to perform their respective roles.
  • A team-oriented mindset and an interest in working collaboratively with other senior
    leaders so that technology advances their respective areas of school life.
  • BS/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
