POSITION SUMMARY

This position plays a key role in welcoming new students and families to the SWCHS community. Responsibilities include managing student registrations, placement tests, and events needed to ensure a smooth transition for new students. This role also supports the Director of Enrollment with the admissions process, admissions events, tours, and shadow days.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Associate Director of Admissions will be responsible for leading the following key areas:

  • Plan and execute events that support new student transition, including:
    • Placement testing
    • Onboarding  events
    • Course registration
    • New Family Orientation
  • Lead the onboarding process for new students, including the planning of social events, administering schedule creation,  locker assignments, system logins, and other necessary information. 
  • Ensure a smooth transition of new students and families through communications, events and providing ongoing support through their first year at SWCHS.
  • Maintain the New Family Handbook and provide regular communications to new families.
  • Develop and implement opportunities for new students and families to connect and engage with the SWCHS community throughout the year.
  • Manage and continue to grow the Parent Ambassador Program, fostering a culture of welcome and hospitality among current families.
  • Partner with the Athletic Department to promote and support the Future Stars athletic engagement program.

The Associate Director will also partner closely with the Director of Enrollment to support the following responsibilities:

  • Planning & coordination of events for prospective students and families, including individual and group shadow days, admissions events, and athletic recruiting events.
  • Provide engaging and informative campus tours for prospective students and families.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for prospective families, offering guidance throughout the admissions process.
  • Assist with the screening of student application materials.
  • Participate in admissions interviews and help assess applicant fit in collaboration with the Director of Enrollment and other school leaders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Required Skills & Abilities 

  • Display a high level of enthusiasm, service, patience, and teamwork with prospective and current SWCHS families. 
  • Ability to plan and execute events. 
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) skills and the ability to manage multiple details simultaneously are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Strong organization and planning skills, combined with creativity, initiative, and innovation.
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the Google environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information. 
  • Ability to periodically work evening admissions-related events (approx 12/yr). 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. 
  • Three to five years of experience directly related to the responsibilities specified. 

Preferred 

  • Previous work experience in an academic setting, preferably in a school admissions role. 
  • Experience with Blackbaud or other school-related database products. 
  • Significant experience in Event Planning, Onboarding, Sales or Hospitality.

  • Believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God, and our standard for faith and practice; actively support the school’s Statement of Faith.
  • Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by his/her prayer life, Bible study, and spiritual outreach.
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct (Luke 6:40). 

Pay range - $50,000-$70,000 - average range, actual salary based on experience
