Upper School Spiritual Life Director

General Qualifications:

  1. Evidence of a mature personal Christian faith consistent with the Charlotte Christian Statement of Faith.
  2. Evidence understanding of and a commitment to the distinctive qualities of Christian education as well as the mission of Charlotte Christian School.
  3. Possess a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in an area of instruction, or a related area (master’s degree preferred).
  4. Minimum of 3 years experience in a secondary educational setting is required.
  5. Evidence of strong organizational, communication, proven interpersonal, and technological skills and possess a strong desire to minister to students’ and families' lives.

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Work with the middle school spiritual life director in the planning, staffing, and administration of the fall all-school retreat.
  2. Overseeing and coordinating chapels for students and faculty along with other spiritual development/formation programming. Keep chapels relevant and exciting to the students
  3. Plan and coordinate the Upper School Spiritual Life Conference.
  4. Carry out a vision for students ’spiritual development through all spiritual formation activities.
  5. Coordinate and oversee D.I.G. group leaders, Bible studies, meetings, and special events.
  6. Plan and facilitate multiple and tiered school-sponsored mission trips. 
  7. Develop Christian Leadership among the faculty and the student body
  8. Build and maintain relationships with area youth pastors.
  9. Be available to students in upper school for prayer and spiritual counseling.
  10. Work with the lower and middle school spiritual life directors in planning and facilitating the five all school chapels throughout the year
  11. Plan and facilitate mission and career fairs.
  12. Regularly attend co-curricular events
  13. Serve on the upper school discipline committee.
  14. Update the Charlotte Christian website with Spiritual information and photos.
  15. Fulfill other duties as assigned.

  4. Demonstrate adeptness at problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  5. Evidence of strong organizational skills and ability to finish tasks in a timely manner.
  6. Demonstrate emotional maturity and stability in dealing with the challenges of life and school.
  7. Evidence of the ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to school matters.
  8. Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  9. Possess strong computer skills and familiarity with appropriate learning technology.
  10. Have the ability to present a positive image of the school to others and to the community.
