Summary Description:

 The High School Spanish Teacher will become an integral part of our collaborative learning community, focusing on the school’s mission. This role involves partnering to inspire academic curiosity, impeccable character, and Christian leadership grounded in biblical truth.

In addition to incorporating Biblical principles, our high school language teachers will deliver classes aimed at sparking and nurturing student interest in the Spanish language and culture, while also preparing them for advanced language studies.

Job Requirements:

Successful candidates, in addition to possessing experience and a strong educational background, should demonstrate a passion for working with high school students. An engaging teaching style, the ability to interact effectively with parents and colleagues, and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment are essential.

Essential Functions:

  • Integrating Biblical truth into all Spanish language lessons.
  • Instructing students in Spanish language content, designing engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Demonstrating the ability to successfully implement differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Investing in the lives of students and building genuine teacher-student relationships.
  • Demonstrating accurate, up-to-date knowledge of Spanish language content.
  • Managing the classroom environment to optimize student learning.
  • Maintaining regular, professional communication with students and parents regarding students’ progress.
  • Collaborating with homeroom and other subject teachers to ensure vertical alignment within the curriculum.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of learning challenges and the ability to develop and employ strategies to support diverse learners.
  • Ability to use technology effectively.
  • Attending and participating in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Maintain proper attire consistent with the school’s dress code, reflecting a positive attitude and appearance.
  • Consistently maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Report on inappropriate behavior to School Administration to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Uphold a high regard for personal safety and the safety of school employees, students, and assets.
  • Abide by and comply with all school policies and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned by the High School Principal or Head of School

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Spanish with a preference for Foreign Language Education. Proficient in both written and spoken Spanish.
  • Three to five years of teaching experience in the relevant field.
  • Ability to work in a school environment, subject to a successful background check process and completion of Ministry Safe Training.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with diverse staff, faculty, students, and other constituents.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality is required as a condition of employment.

Physical:

  • Regularly required to listen, physically direct, and speak.
  • Position requiring mobility, including bending, lifting, pushing, walking.
  • Use of hands and fingers to manipulate office equipment, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distant vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • Must be capable of standing and/or sitting at a computer for extended periods of time, with occasional carrying and moving of small objects.
