The Director of Student Support Services at Mount Paran Christian School will provide strategic leadership and coordination of the school’s comprehensive support system for students with learning exceptionalities, ensuring that all students receive the necessary support to thrive academically, emotionally, and spiritually in the school’s Christ-centered academic environment.
· Strong personal faith in Christ, a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs, and an ability to demonstrate pastoral care for students, staff, and parents as needed.
· Deep sense of empathy for diverse learners, believing strongly in their current capabilities and future potential.
· Bachelor’s degree mandatory. Master’s degree in special education, educational psychology, educational leadership or a related field preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in special education, student support services, or a related leadership role within an educational setting preferred.
· Strong understanding of Christian education and unwavering support for the MPCS mission and vision.
· The ability to integrate faith into professional practice and operate faithfully from a biblical worldview.
· Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state laws related to special education in a private school setting.
· Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills, including experience with conflict resolution.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers, and administrators in lower, middle, and high school.
· Proficiency in using educational technology and data management systems.
· Strong organization and problem-solving skills, and exemplary executive functioning abilities.
· Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in the field.
· Excellent cognitive and hearing abilities.
· Comply with conditions as stated in employment agreement and employee handbook.
· Lifting equipment, boxes and other packages not exceeding 50 lbs. for males or 25 lbs. for females (boxes heavier than 50 pounds should be lifted while wearing a back brace).
