The Marketing, Communications, & Special Events Coordinator supports the Director of Communications & Special Events and Creative Marketing & Alumni Manager with day-to-day department needs and planning. He or she must be a mature Christian who also agrees with The First Academy's philosophies, vision, and mission statement. This position is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Social Media and Content Collection
    • Oversees and Organizes collecting day-to-day and special event photos, videos, testimonials, etc., for social media posts, videos (reels), and stories. 
    • Assist in monitoring all TFA Social Media Sub-Accounts (Manage day to day-to-day engagement & monitoring for TFA Main Account and Sub-Accounts) 
  • Facilitates Scheduling for Marketing, Communications, & Special Event Needs
    • Scheduling and organization of Videography/ Photo Shoots  
    • Assist in scheduling alumni interviews, alumni reunions, and alumni newsletters
    • External Advertisement Scheduling and Research
    • Operations and Technology Tickets for Marketing, Communications, & Special Event Needs
  • Digital & Print Marketing & Media Management
    • Manages and Organizes partnerships with print/community outlets, assisting in keeping track of print partnerships and due dates for advertisements and stories.
    • Organization of promotion of school stories, lead in sending content to local media outlets
    • Organization and weekly monitoring of needed website edits

  • Communications & Special Events
    • Assists in editing important school-wide communications (both print and electronic)
    • Assists in contacting vendors and scheduling vendors for school events
    • Assists in the design of signage and promotional materials for special events and school needs

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Your service at The First Academy is a ministry. In your ministry role, it is imperative that you understand the importance of embracing a Christian Worldview and being an ambassador for the Gospel. The Baptist Faith and Message of 2000, The First Baptist Church of Orlando, and the School’s Statement of Faith outlined in Article III of its By-laws are the guidelines of Biblical interpretation and application to social and lifestyle issues at The First Academy.   • Evidence of a mature personal Christian faith consistent with the First Academy Statement of Faith, including being a born-again Christian, active Church member, exhibiting a close personal walk with Jesus Christ: modeling an exemplary Biblical lifestyle, and evidencing maturity in the understanding and integration of sound Biblical principles in classroom instruction and personal counseling
  • Present a positive image of the school to others and the community.
  • May require some evening and weekend social media and marketing response
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Must be detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, incorporating the appropriate level of diplomacy and tact.
  • Possess solid communication skills, both written and verbal, strong organizational skills, ability to finish tasks in a timely manner, and effectively partner and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to school/employee matters.
  • Experienced with using technology, including Apple products and Microsoft Office Suite.
