Finance Specialist

Overview
This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position. The purpose of this position is to support and assist with preparing, analyzing, and reporting financial data and maintaining the school’s fixed assets records. This individual also assists families by processing financial aid based on school policy to help cover educational expenses and related costs. The Finance Specialist is expected to assist Hebron Christian Academy in achieving its mission. A commitment to excellence and unparalleled customer service is needed and is the expectation of all Hebron employees.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance preferred.
  • Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of finance experience in a non-profit setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
Financial Aid
  • Coordinates financial aid process with FACTS, including application review, award recommendations, notification to parents, and sends information to AR Specialist.
  • Coordinates financial aid awarded through Georgia GOAL and Arete; liaison regarding any other issues that may come up during the year.  Reconciles GOAL records with Tuition management and manages all tasks associated with any family receiving aid through Arete.
  • Updates HCA website and FACTS online application.
Fixed Assets
  • Records, reconciles, and reviews inventory records for Fixed Assets.
  • Processes and records depreciation.
Booster Clubs/School Clubs/Parent Organizations
  • Assists HCA personnel/parents in reconciling and reviewing account balances.
  • Furnishes account information as requested.
General Accounting
Input all Cash Receipts to Blackbaud—Cash, Checks and Credit Card payments received throughout the school.
  • Reconciles BB&T accounts monthly—assists as needed.
  • Posts Raiser’s Edge entries in Financial Edge.
  • Prepares G/L entries.
  • Blackbaud Financial Edge-Administrative Rights:  sets up new users, resets passwords, etc.
  • Scrub accounts, FXA reports, Cash Receipts, etc. for audit prep annually
  • Misc. questions/projects/audit preparation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed.
