Weekend Campus Security

 
 
Title: Weekend Campus Security

Part Time, Non-Exempt, 12 month

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Education/Experience Required/Preferred: A high school diploma is required. Further education is preferred.

 

General Responsibilities

The Weekend Campus Security position will spend their shift monitoring the campus, and provide direction and assistance to visitors and students.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Monitor the campus- including the hallways, non-classroom areas and parking lots.

  • Supervise campus entrances for visitors.

  • Provide assistance and directions to campus visitors; identify unauthorized individuals and take appropriate action.

  • Work with administrators to maintain a clean and orderly campus.

  • Promote and model appropriate behavior. Conduct self as Christ’s ambassador to students, staff and parents.

  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.

  • Assist with crowd control and emergency situations.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties and basic functions in the routine maintenance or improvement of Campus facilities as assigned.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma required. Further education desired.

  • Previous successful experience in the security field is considered an asset.

  • Ability to work overtime, if necessary.

  • Work in cooperation with Maintenance, Grounds, and Custodial personnel.

  • Skill in reading Standard English text in order to follow through on written orders and carry out assignments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, climb a ladder a minimum of 6’, and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds of materials, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus, especially at night.

  • Ability to stand, crawl, walk and stoop; push and pull objects up to 50 lbs.; and lift or lower objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in wet or humid weather, and extreme temperatures. Ability to work under adverse situations and conditions, e.g., dirty, noisy etc.

  • Perform a variety of manual skilled and unskilled duties to support the maintenance, repair, upkeep and alteration of campus property.

Other Requirements

  • Must hold or obtain a valid First Aid and CPR Certificate within the first three months of employment.

  • Must possess a California Class 3 Driver’s License, for operation of Campus vehicles.

This is a part time, 16 hour a week position. Schedule will be weekends (Saturday and Sunday) 12:30pm to 9:00pm. This position reports directly to the Director of Facilities.
